Introduction
China is experiencing a crucial stage of promoting educational modernization, which requires normal universities to face and explore significant issues in various aspects. It is necessary to reinforce educational research and improve teacher professionalization in order to comprehensively implement the fundamental mission of fostering morality and cultivating a new generation of young people who will be socialist builders and successors that are well - developed morally, intellectually, physically and aesthetically, to widely carry out ideal and faith education, to profoundly cultivate the spirit of patriotism for students and strengthen their moral literacy, and to equip students with national civic qualities in the New Era.
With the cooperation with Beijing Normal University, Capital Normal University is planning to establish the Beijing Institute of Moral Education , making effort collaboratively to build world-class educational disciplines. This cooperation aims to integrate superior team resources of both sides in the field of education theories, including gathering world-wide prestigious scholars studying moral education, accumulating experiences from educators who works in the front line of moral education, forming an collaborative innovation research team, and building a national-leading and international-influential think tank in moral education.
We sincerely invite academic experts and educational practitioners to attend Beijing Moral Education Forum: ‘Inquiry on the Development of Moral Education in the New Era’ to discuss opportunities and challenges for moral education theories and practices in the New Era. The forum is devoted to reviewing and summing up previous experience and clarifying current dilemma in China as well as exploring the new trend of moral education in the New Era, thus to speed up educational modernization, to strengthen the construction of a powerful country in educational and to better serve the city construction of Beijing to be a national centre of politics, culture, international exchange and scientific innovation.
